  InLAB NIR 256
InLab spectrometers are designed and manufactured by TecnoCientífica to follow the specific user guidelines required by our customers. They are very robust, automatic, and user friendly. NIR (near infrared) spectroscopy is the spectral technology applied to them. The optical data is taken by Reflectance. These instruments can be used for measurements of whole, processed, or milled grains. The spectral ranges covered depend on different models:
InLab NIR-512: 900nm – 1700nm
InLab NIR-256: 900nm – 2100nm

The flow of the sample across the hopper (continuous measurement) is managed with a low revolution engine controlled by software. The sensor illuminates the sample through a special high quality optical glass. Historic data is saved in spreadsheet format. This is why data management and making reports is very easy using our software. Samples can be identified automatically with letters and numbers sequentially with PC software or just with numbers using the on-board instrument keyboard. The instrument can be connected to a PC using a Serial/USB port. Results are presented on the display in addition to the sample information. The measuring operation can be managed from the PC or from the instrument itself.

Different models can be chosen depending on the specific applications needs of the customer.
Measurement times change with the amount of sample to be analyzed. You can run from 200 cm3 and up to 1000 cm3. Normally the sampling time is between 4 and 9 seconds. The capacity of processing a big amount of sample (or small, depending of user requirements) makes the spectral data very representative. Measurements are multi-parametric. This means that in the same analysis you receive all the results of the parameters that are included in the selected product calibration.

The heart of the system is a light disperser which uses the most modern technology to obtain spectral images: detecting instantly and simultaneously the whole spectral range through an InGaAs PDA (photo diode array) detector. So, there are no optical moving parts (like monochromators) avoiding recalibration because of a misalignment. This device is installed in a separated Thermo Electrical Controled (TEC) module that keeps its ambient temperature in 20°C +/- 0.1°C optimizing the optical stability of the system.

The spectrometer is managed by software which controls it as a “spectral photographic machine”, allowing it to obtain multiple scans of the complete spectral range in just milliseconds (this is why our system works very well with continuous flow applications). Because of speed of our acquisition we can create an integrated spectral result by averaging many of the spectra collected from the sample as it moves through the sample chamber.  This feature allows us to collect an accurate, repeatable and reproducible prediction with minimal influence from particle heterogeneity.
