Design and Usability

The Grain-Q “sensor” is installed on the grain elevator auger of the combine harvester. It “fishes” the sample as the machine advances, scanning a column of grains of approximately 25 cm, returning it to the flow of the waterwheel once it has been measured.

The results are displayed on a touch screen computer directly to the driver in his own cab, updating the data every 20 seconds (according to the harvesting speed of the machine) and with GEO-REFERENCE, which allows not only to KNOW the quality (protein, fat, moisture and others) but also the precise location of each data (Quality Map).

Technology

TecnoCientifica designed the first and only equipment of its kind in Latin America: The Grain-Q, an automatic system, based on NIR technology, to be mounted directly on the harvester.

It uses a scanning system exclusive to TecnoCientifica, identical to the InLab NIR-Plus, our flagship equipment for measuring whole grains on the table.

This makes the Calibrations developed in either model completely transferable, optimizing the databases, the robustness and representativeness of the results.
