Waste Control System for:

Tailings and Effluents

Several waste control analyses can be done "indirectly" by observing what is lost in the sludge and effluents of a production process.

Tailings and effluent control

Example in High Protein Soy Flours:

This is a special application that controls the losses of parameters of productive interest that are carried over in the residues of a specific production. As a special case to understand the objective, we can mention the production of High Protein Soy Flours:

  • The other important product obtained in this process is crude oil.
  • This is achieved by extracting the maximum fat from the soybeans (industrially with solvent dragging).
  • Then the oil obtained goes through a “degumming” process. This is done with the addition of water which washes away the soluble phospholipids in it.
  • This “gum” that is formed is separated by centrifugation.
  • If the centrifuge is NOT properly regulated, some oil could be extracted from the rubber
  • The analysis of the oil level in the extraction gums is a parameter that allows to have a quick and specific idea of how the centrifuges are working.
  • Keep in mind that the historical value of soybean oil is about U$S 900 per ton, therefore, no plant wants to lose it in the waste.

Our team NIREx. allows the producer to make quick decisions by processing as-is or minimally ground samples, optimizing resources, increasing sampling capacity and lowering operating costs. Improved Indirect Waste Control in Tailings and Effluents.

This modern equipment is part of the new line of integrated products, started with the InLab NIR-Plus. It is a NIR spectrophotometer designed to work on all types of transparent fluids with low water content (less than 2%). Improved Indirect Waste Control in Tailings and Effluents.
