Quality Control and Grain Grading

Fast, Clean (no reagents used) and Simple measurement allows the market to add value to their grain products and derivatives with minimal investment.

The main objective is the determination of the quality of grains and derivatives, essential source of agri-food, in order to:

  • Identify the availability of nutrients in raw materials for production of:
    • Oils
    • High protein flours
    • Balanced
  • The classification of grains and seeds by quality in order to obtain a “premium” in the price per ton. Examples
    • Wheat: 2% additional price bonus per tonne for each percentage point above 11% protein.
    • Barley: Protein is KEY when it comes to serving malting plants for malt and beer production. In this case it must be in the approximate range of 9.5% to 13% to be accepted by the industry. The price of malting barley is higher than forage barley.
  • Segregate to achieve customer specifications in the production of Oils and Flours.

The InLab NIR-Plus has been specially designed for measurements on whole or processed grains (coarse grinded) and industrial derivatives of vegetable oil production, such as flours and expeller. It is the right tool for quality control and classification of coarse grinded grains and derivatives.
