Continuous Humidity Monitoring

Continuous Humidity Monitoring

The industrial drying processes, especially those of grains, are fundamental for the conditioning of the load at the moment of deciding to be stored in Silos or Cells.

An excess of humidity, combined with temperature increases can be very dangerous, generating decomposition sources and even risk of self-ignition if the material contains combustible components (e.g. grease).

Automatic Continuous Humidity Monitoring allows the operator to ensure that the level of this parameter does not exceed acceptable limits. In addition, with online information, you can adjust the heating levels for the process, saving energy costs and maintaining nutrient quality by not exceeding temperature.

The system is typically a variant of our OLSEN, with the particularity that it can also use the sensor of our GRAIN-Q system, in case of continuous batch monitoring.

Important benefits:

  • Increases the efficiency of the drying process by continuously monitoring the target humidity.
  • Significant energy savings by optimizing the use of fuel for the drying process.
  • Improves plant performance, maximizing the speed of the process with safety in the final moisture level of the grains.

Continuous Humidity Monitoring

Distinguishing features:

  • Maximum and Minimum Level Alarms
  • On-Line Charts by product and parameter
  • Automatic Error Logging
  • Permanent monitoring of system status
  • Simultaneous display information of all selected sensors
  • Programmable screen data period
  • Automatic online calculations: Actual data, average data, Max and Min
  • Automatic Sampling Programmable from the Control Unit
  • Historical Records
  • Ongoing Calibration Developments and Upgrades
  • Excellent performance in humidityThe level of absorption in the NIR range of the water molecule is very strong and specific.

Our exclusive Fiber Optic Switching system, designed by us, is in charge of distributing the signal coming from the different sensors to the spectrometric unit, allowing the use of only 1 (one) spectrometer to control up to 12 remote measurement points with a single central unit.

This gives the system an optimal cost/benefit ratio for continuous humidity monitoring.

TecnoCientifica designed the first and only equipment of its kind in Latin America: The Grain-Q, an automatic system for continuous moisture monitoring, based on NIR technology, to be mounted directly on the production line.
