Cell counting and determination of cell viability during bio-processing

NucleoCounter® instruments, which cover the entire path from research to production, offer truly unbiased cell counting and viability determination. With optimized protocols for, for example:

  • Cells in micro-carriers
  • Software interface prepared for 21 CFR Part 11 compliant laboratories

Bioprocesos CAR T PBMC Fig1 NC200 and NC3000 768x283 1

NucleoCounter ® is the optimal solution for production facilities.

Technology and usability

Most active pharmaceutical ingredients and industrially important proteins, peptides and secondary metabolites are produced by bioprocessing mammalian cells.

While monitoring parameters in the reactor, such as pH, temperature, oxygen and optical density, can provide valuable information on progress, rapid and efficient estimation of total cell concentration and viability will accurately define the state of manufacture.

NucleoCounter® instruments use state-of-the-art imaging cytometry and fluorophores for the detection of total and nonviable cell populations. NucleoCounter® instruments help to monitor production processes and ensure reproducibility and consistency in bio-processing.

Specific applications:

  • Counting cells growing on microcarriers
  • CAR-T Clinical Manufacturing Monitoring
  • Monitoring of viability and GFP expression levels in cells
  • Spheroid growing cell count
  • Consistent cell count
